go!PEI would like to thank all Islanders who signed up for the go!forit initiative!
At this time, we are no longer accepting participants.

In 2019, go!PEI recruited individuals, households and workplaces from across Prince Edward Island to GO FOR IT!  go!Forit was a free year-long initiative designed to increase physical activity through a personalized walking program, introduction to facilities and programs in participants' communities, education sessions, and a supportive environment. go!forit was designed for Islanders 18 years of age or older, who were not meeting the recommended guidelines of 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity a week, wanted to add more physical activity to their day but were not sure how to get started. go!PEI searched for 200 households and 20 small to medium workplaces to participate. Deadline for applications was Friday, May 10, 2020. A selection committee reviewed applications and selected participants for the program.

The go!forit initiative was in partnership with the Public Health Agency of Canada. It was delivered across PEI by the following go!PEI community partners: Eastern Region Sport & Rec Council, Central Region Sport & Rec Council, Western Regional Sport & Rec Council, the cities of Charlottetown and Summerside, and the towns of Stratford and Cornwall.
